Betty Ige is the author of You Almost Got Away With It (EPUB), Clockwise, and The Beautiful, the Bold and the Broken: Legacy of Faith, Love and Sacrifice. Her work has appeared in various national and international publications including African Literature Today (ALT), ANA Review, The Malady and The Remedy, Voices that Sing Behind the Veil, Ebedi Review, LOTUS Magazine,and elsewhere.She is a writer who uses the short story format to drive her narratives. Such an effective writing technique which had evolved from the author’s professional work as a journalist imbued her with using multiple narrative points of view to examine global but sublime issues in her writings. Her career has included stints as a journalist and university lecturer. She worked as a professional journalist with the Kwara State Printing and Publishing Corporation (publishers of The Herald titles) in various capacities includingWoman Editor, a post she held whileinitiating and carrying out meaningful reforms on the Woman Desk.A social entrepreneur, she is inspired to use her diverse backgrounds across creative writing, media/journalism, academics and administration to attack what she calls the “literacy virus” – poor writing and reading culture.She is the founder of NCODE a book-giving-and-receiving resource and an educational and a readership promotion enterprise established with focus on promoting literary and intellectual development.Her mission is to promote the literacy culture and make reading a commonplace experience. Betty Ige holds BA and MA degrees in English Language, a Post-graduate Diploma (PGD) in Journalism, a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and Administration. She currently serves as the Head of Literature and Publications Department, The Kingdom Projects (TKP) International. She is a member of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA).
